Giving

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

“Now considering the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. On the first day of every week let each one of you put aside and save, as he may prosper, that no collection be made when I come.” 2 Corinthians 16:1-2

“No, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia, that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality.” 2 Corinthians 8:1-2

“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

We want to help you make giving a meaningful and regular part of your worship and relationship with God. We believe what the Bible teaches—that everything we have (money and possessions) and everything we are (gifts and talents) have been entrusted to us to manage according to His desires as expressed in scripture.

We Encourage…

  • Giving as an act of worship. Giving is an expression of our love for God and our devotion to Him. It is born out of our free response to all He has done for us, not out of guilt or duty.

  • Regular percentage giving. We ask everyone to prayerfully decide on a percentage of their income they are willing to give to the church, and consistently give that amount throughout the year.

  • Creativity in giving. Being good managers of what God has entrusted to us doesn’t just include giving money; we’re taught to give of our time, talents, and other treasures as well. We frequently receive non-monetary items of value.

You Can Expect Us To…

  • Manage the church’s finances with integrity and professionalism.

  •  Monthly financial results are reviewed by our staff, Church Treasurer, and our Trustees.

  • Provide weekly updates of our giving on the bulletin board.

  • Provide you with your year-end charitable tax statement.

  • Make our annual budget available to you

Over and above regular giving, we believe that followers of Christ should contribute towards the needs of the poor, to missions, and to facility expansion efforts. Please prayerfully consider how you might give in these ways to support this ministry. (All undesignated money received goes directly into the General Fund. To give to the other three funds, please designate by dollar amount or percent of total given.)

We appreciate your faithful giving!

  • General Fund: Supports the day-to-day operational costs of East Benton Christian Church.

  • Missions Fund: Helps to support missionary families associated with our Fellowship, local mission agencies, short-term mission trips, and designated projects.

  • Deacons Fund: Assists the less-fortunate or those in difficult, temporary situations.
